M.S. Nanjing Normal University, 2017
It has been six years since 2012 when I started studying microalgae at Nanjing Normal University. Those unicellular species are so interesting and they will attract your attention if you encounter them. There are tons of interesting biological questions about microalgae, but I am most intrigued about their evolutionary history, and the studies on diatoms in the Li Lab will reveal molecular details about the endosymbiotic events that led to primary and secondary plastids.
After my M.S, I spent one year working in a human evolution group at the Institute of Vertebrate Paleontology and Paleoanthropology to develop my skills in bioinformatics. I enjoy working with members in the Li Lab and hope to contribute my expertise in algal biology and data analyses.
