Ph.D. University of Chinese Academy of Sciences, 2018
I was studying for a Ph.D. in Botany and Genetics at Institute of Plant Physiology and Ecology, Chinese Academy of Sciences in Shanghai since 2012. My Ph.D. research was focused on photosynthesis. Photosynthesis is the process by which plants utilize solar energy to convert CO2 and H2O into carbohydrates, with the release of O2. Through this process, photosynthetic organisms are the ultimate source of all of our food and all fossil fuels, and have potential to play a critical role in producing renewable energy and mitigating impacts of climate change. Because of my sustained interest in photosynthesis research, I chose to join Xiaobo’s team after graduating in 2018.
